Become a NAFEX Volunteer
NAFEX Board
We nominate new members to the Board at each annual meeting, and then the membership at the general meeting must approve them. We try to add three members to the Board each year. Details are in the NAFEX Bylaws. Any member can volunteer by notifiying one of the officers prior to the meeting.
NAFEX Committees
Information about Committee Chair positions are in the NAFEX Bylaws. We welcome volunteers of all experience levels to serve on a committee. It’s a great way to meet other fruit growers! Our active committees include:
- Programs – Help to organize interest group meetings and our annual meeting/conference.
- Communications – Create informative and engaging content for social media, the NAFEX website and member communications.
- POMONA Journal – Gather and edit articles for our quarterly publication (see below).
Please contact NAFEX if you are interested in volunteering to help as an Officer or Committee Member.
Interest Group Consultants
Interest Group Consultants are NAFEXers with a strong interest in a specific area of fruit, nut, or culture, who are willing to “talk fruit” with members, provide lists of nursery sources, share information sources, and write articles for Pomona. Pomona Gathering Editors, Writers, Artists, Photographers
Pomona is a member-written (and now drawn and photographed) publication. All NAFEXers are invited to share their fruit and nut stories. What are you growing? What are your favorite cultivars and why? Share your favorite tips on fruit culture or send in a picture of your harvest to admin@nafexmembers.org.
